Linear integration

Connect Linear so teams, issues, and cycles feed flow metrics in Leanmote.

Updated today

The Linear integration is the planning-side data source for teams that prefer Linear over Jira. It supports the same flow metrics — throughput, cycle time, WIP, waiting time — and substitutes Linear cycles for Jira sprints in Sprint Efficiency.

What Leanmote pulls from Linear

  • Teams you select.

  • Issues with state-change history.

  • Cycles with start, end, and committed-scope snapshots.

  • Estimates and labels used in metrics.

Connect Linear

  1. Open Administration → Productivity Tools.

  2. Find Linear under Project Management and click Connect.

  3. Sign in to your Linear workspace.

  4. Authorize the requested scopes.

  5. Select the teams to include.

  6. Click Save.

Status mapping

Linear states map cleanly to Leanmote's active/waiting model out of the box (Backlog → backlog, Started → active, Canceled → excluded, etc.). Custom states need to be classified once after connection — open the Linear integration's status mapping inside Administration → Productivity Tools.

Cycles vs. sprints

Linear cycles play the same role as Jira sprints in Sprint Efficiency. The first two completed cycles establish the baseline.

Common issues

  • Estimates not showing — confirm your team uses an estimation scale; teams without one will have empty Story Points.

  • Triage state included as active — re-classify Triage as a waiting state in the integration's status mapping.
