What the Channels tab is
Each row is a Slack channel Leanmote found through a connected user's credentials. Channels feed the collaboration and communication metrics.
Columns
Channel — name, with
#for public channels and a lock for private ones.Tool — Slack.
Type — Public, Private, Group DM or Direct.
Detected by — the user whose Slack credentials found the channel. It matters: a private channel is only visible to Leanmote through someone who is in it.
Status — Measuring, Paused or Switched off.
Actions
Measure
Starts reading the channel. Unlike repos and boards, there's no backfill question: its messages are picked up on the next sync.
Do not measure
Extractors skip it from now on, and the row moves to Switched off. Nothing already collected is deleted. The decision sticks even if someone else's credentials find the channel again — it won't come back to Unreviewed on its own.
In bulk
Tick the rows, or Select all N in this tab, then Measure or Do not measure, with an Undo right after.
What to leave out
Direct messages and group DMs are discovered like any other channel, and most organizations switch them off: they carry little signal about how teams collaborate and a lot about individuals. Project and team channels are where the useful signal is.
