Discoveries — People tab

How to map or ignore external people detected in commits, PRs, tasks, Slack, and Calendar. Special cases and bulk ignore.

What the People tab is

This is the default Discoveries tab and the most-used one. Each row is an external person who appeared in an integrated system and isn't yet linked to a Leanmote user.

Map — link the person to an internal user

Opens a side panel with three blocks:

  • Suggested matches: candidates suggested by email, name, or handle similarity (a fuzzy algorithm that tolerates variants and accents — for example, "Lucía" matches "Lucia").

  • Search organization users: free-text search across every user in your org.

  • Also link these accounts (same email) (only when the person appears in multiple providers with the same email): checkboxes for each account so you can map them all at once.

Once you confirm the Map, Leanmote automatically re-attributes all historical activity (commits, PRs, comments, tasks) for that person to the internal user. Nothing else you need to do.

Ignore — dismiss the person

Marks the person as a "real external" (client, vendor, contractor). They won't show up in Pending again. You can reverse this from the Ignored filter → Restore.

Expand — view recent activity

Click the arrow next to the name to see the last 10 appearances: which commits, PRs, meetings, or Slack messages. Useful when deciding whether to map or ignore.

Special cases

Same person across multiple providers

If a person appears in GitHub + Slack + Calendar with the same email, Leanmote collapses them into a single row with a +N variants badge. When you Map, the panel lets you link every account with one click.

Domain mismatch ⚠

In the suggested-matches panel, a ⚠ different domain tag means the suggested match has an email from a different domain than the internal user. Possible false positive (people with the same first name across different companies) — review before confirming.

Slack bots and deactivated users

Filtered automatically. Slackbot and deactivated accounts never reach Pending.

Calendar — org people only

Google Calendar attendees are filtered so only people with an email from your organization's domain or with a generic Google email (@gmail.com / @googlemail.com) reach Pending. Clients and vendors with their own external domains don't enter — it would be noise without mapping value.

Bulk ignore — ignore many at once

  1. Click Select to ignore (light-red button at the top).

  2. Checkboxes appear on every row + a select-all in the header.

  3. Check the ones you want to ignore.

  4. Click Ignore selected → confirm → done.

To exit selection mode without doing anything, click Cancel or Exit selection.
