Do I have to approve everything before Leanmote measures it?
No — usually the opposite. With Automatic activation on, a new repo, board or channel starts being measured as soon as discovery finds it, and your job is to switch off what shouldn't be. Turn the setting off and new findings wait paused until you switch them on one by one.
Either way, nothing you already switched off turns itself back on, and nothing already measuring stops because you flipped the setting.
What's the difference between the segments and the Status column?
The three segments — Unreviewed, Measuring, Switched off — answer "what do I still have to decide about". The Status column answers "what is happening with this row right now": Measuring, Paused, or Switched off.
They're not the same question, which is why both exist. A row can sit in Unreviewed while already being measured: discovery activated it, and you haven't looked at it yet.
If I switch something off, do I lose its data?
No. Extractors stop reading it from then on, and nothing already collected is deleted. The row moves to Switched off, and Measure brings it back whenever you want.
I clicked the wrong thing. Can I undo it?
Yes. An Undo appears right after any action, single or bulk, and it's a real undo — it puts the rows back in the state it found them, not an optimistic guess.
Where are the discovered people?
On the Users page, in the Discovered tab. They're not part of Discoveries: mapping a person is a decision about your user list. See Mapping discovered people.
A status is making my Cycle Time look wrong. What do I check?
Its Classification. Every discovered status is classified automatically from its name into Backlog, Active, Waiting, Done or Unclassified, and that bucket is what decides whether time in it counts as active work, as waiting, or as finished. Names that don't say what they mean — "In analysis", "Ready", "Parked" — are the ones the automatic guess gets wrong.
Fix it in the Statuses tab, in the cell: no dialog, and it saves on the spot.
Why does a status still say Unclassified?
Because Leanmote couldn't tell from the name what it is. Left that way, the status counts towards nothing — which is worse than a wrong guess, because a wrong guess at least shows up as a number that looks off. Classify it by hand.
How do I know whether a repo is worth measuring?
View activity shows its last five activities, read live from the provider even before you activate it. On something that isn't active yet, that preview doesn't count towards metrics — it's there so you can tell a live repository from an abandoned one before deciding.
When does discovery run?
Automatically every day at 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM. To look right now, use the picker in the triage bar and choose the entity you want. If a run is already going, your request joins it instead of starting a second one, and you'll be told when it finishes and how many new pending items it found.
The list is empty. Is something broken?
The empty state tells you which case you're in: nothing waiting for review, no tools connected yet, or rows that exist in this segment but don't pass the column filters you have on. The third one is the most common — Clear filters and look again.
Who can see and use Discoveries?
Only users with the Manager or Owner access level. Every endpoint on the page is admin-only, so the link doesn't appear in the sidebar for other roles and the direct URL returns a 403.
